- Daily and local newspapers are available. Back issues may be viewed on microfilm (advisable to book in advance)

- Free Computer Classes for the older person during the festival of Bealtaine which takes place annually in May

- Dedicated children’s area – fiction and non-fiction books. At Ballina Library we cater for children of all ages – from tiny tots to teenagers. Whether your child likes escaping into a world of fantasy, or prefers to learn more about the world we live in – we have just the book.

- School tour visits - library staff facilitate school visits which aim to provide the children with an introduction to all the library services
- Gramaphone Club- meets monthly in Ballina Library. All interested in an enjoyable, musical experience are welcome.
- Multi-cultural ResourcesForeigh Language Collection - including books and DVDs in Polish, French and German.
